Nancy H. Redmond, age 88, of Marion and formerly of Galion, Ohio, died on Sunday morning, February 19, 2012, at her residence in the Primrose Retirement Community following an extended illness.
On April 21, 1923, Nancy was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late William A. and Ruth (Kurtz) Hiles.
She graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in the Class of 1940.
Shortly after graduating from Case Western Reserve University in the Class of 1946, Nancy married the love of her life, Dustin J. Redmond, Sr., on September 20, 1946, who survives in Marion.
Soon after their marriage, Nancy and Dustin moved to Galion in 1946, where they resided until 2004. She was a homemaker and enjoyed participating in various social and volunteer activities.
In addition to her husband, Nancy will be dearly missed by her three sons: Dustin (Janet) Redmond, Jr., of Marion, Dr. William (Nancy Merritt) Redmond of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Dr. Frank (Cinda) Redmond of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren: Judd (Brynn) Redmond, Allison (Travis) Redmond-Messer, Christopher Redmond, Nicholas Redmond, Shanna Rome, and Billie Rome Emas; sister-in-law, Mary (Carl) Rocco; and her nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Davidson.
At Mrs. Redmond’s request, services will not be observed and a private family burial will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey, Ohio, at a later date.
