Mary E. Dean, age 90, of Marion, passed away Saturday morning, February 25, 2012 at the Marion General Hospital.
Mary was born on September 26, 1921 in Wyandot County to Fred C. and Edith G. (Mountz) Norton. She grew up in Marion area and was a 1939 graduate of Harding High School.
On February 18, 1945, Mary was united in marriage to John Z. Dean.
Mary worked at the Marion Engineer Depot and at the Harding Hotel. She also kept busy working as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. The Marion Historical Society was another favorite interest of Mary’s along with being a devoted member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children: John (JaneAnn) Dean of Marion, Carol (Jim) Feaver of Marion, Edie Hopper of Kyle, TX and Marilyn (Dan) Cupp of Grand Praire, TX; her grandchildren: Anne (Chad) Grupe of Lorton, VA, Kevin (Christy Lee) Feaver of Cincinnati, Elissa Cupp and Christian Cupp of Dallas, TX; she is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Z. Dean; siblings: Beverly Taylor and Paul Norton.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center Street, Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Funeral services will be held on Friday at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 241 South Prospect Street, Marion at 10AM with Pastor Mark Schuring officiating. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery.
