Wayne C. Ruby Jr. age 79 of Marion, Ohio passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at St. Ann's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born August 25, 1932 in Marion, Ohio to the late Wayne C. and Wilda J. (Penney) Ruby Sr.
On April 4, 1956 he married Thelma Ilene (Yost), she survives in Marion, Ohio.
Wayne was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at the Marion Power Shovel for forty years as a drill press operator. Wayne loved working in his garden, loved kids, enjoyed watching westerns on TV and was an avid OSU Fan. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Wayne is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Thelma Ruby of Marion, his children, Ronald R. (Brenda) Ruby of Marion, Dorothy J. (Daniel) Myers of Richwood, Sarah J. (Jimmy) Young of Marion, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, his brother, Richard (Lenny) Ruby of Marion, his sister, Sharon (Gerald) Vanest of Indiana, and his faithful companion, Lucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Verna Southward.
The Funeral Service for Wayne will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012 @ 11 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Minister Tim Nowlin officiating. Burial will follow at Larue Cemetery with The Marion County United Veterans Council conducting military honors. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
