John H. Sandusky, 93, of Richwood

John H. Sandusky, age 93 of Richwood died Monday, March 5, 2012 at Milcrest Nursing Center, Marysville.

He was born March 14, 1918 at the home place on Shertzer Road near Richwood, the son of John and Cena (Yarrington) Sandusky.

On August 16, 1948 he married the former Betty Jane Jolliff and she died December 12, 1978.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Sandusky and a sister, Gladys Rockhold.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army who served during World War II before becoming a life-long farmer.  He belonged to VFW Post 870, Richwood.  An avid hunter, he belonged to the Richwood Gun & Game Club and the NRA.  He was a mechanic and took care of a lot of people in the area.

He is survived by two sons, Bob Sandusky, Richwood; John (Joyce) Sandusky, Richwood; Brenda (Roger) Haude, Richwood; eight grandchildren, Josh (Sherry) Sandusky, Kacie (Matt) Shumaker; Mac (Nicole) Sandusky; Misty (Shawn) Fullenkamp; Nathan (Holly) Sandusky; Shane (Nancy) Haude; Randy Haude; Samantha (Thomas) Castle; thirteen great-grandchildren, Corey Markley, Haley Sandusky, Alec Sandusky, Michael Shumaker, Madeline Shumaker, Kaitlyn Fullenkamp, Evan Fullenkamp, Allyson Sandusky, Dominique Sandusky, Nathan Reid Sandusky, Kobie Zachrich, Laythyn Zachrich, and Kiylee Haude and a sister-in-law, Alicia Sandusky, Richwood.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating.  Burial will follow in Byhalia Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans.  Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home in Richwood.
