Palace Theatre Hosting Official Blues Brothers Revue

“The Official Blues Brothers Revue” brings the sounds, styles, and soul of the Blues Brothers to the Marion Palace Theatre Friday, April 13 at 8:00 p.m. It is the only Blues Brothers show to be officially sanctioned by Dan Aykroyd and wife of the late John Belushi, Judith Belushi Pisano.

Over 30 years ago, legendary comedians John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd introduced the world to The Blues Brothers in a self-titled film.  It was a loveable tale of redemption about a pair of paroled convicts (Jake and Elwood) who set out to save the Catholic orphanage in which they grew up.  As the story goes, they re-formed their rhythm and blues band, The Blues Brothers, and organized a concert to raise $5,000 to pay off the debt and save the day. But things never went according to plan.

Now, the Blues Brothers live on in the “Official Blues Brothers Revue” starring Wayne Catania as Jake and Kieron Lafferty as Elwood.

Catania and Lafferty got their start in the award winning Las Vegas show "Legends in Concert,” performing in showrooms and theatres from coast to coast.  A chance meeting with filmmaker Paul Jay led to the acclaimed A&E docudrama "Lost in Las Vegas,” the story of two performers trying to survive and raise families in a city whose only value is making money.

The A&E film caught the attention of Victor Pisano and Judy Belushi Pisano who asked Catania and Lafferty to audition for the stage musical “The Official Blues Brothers Revival.”

“We learned that day how hard it is to do what John and Dan did,” says Judy Belushi Pisano, “…some looked the part but nobody had the whole package until Kieron and Wayne arrived."

From that show’s successful Chicago run was born “The Official Blues Brothers Revue.”  This live concert show combines the comedy and hits from the original movie and pays homage to Chicago’s rich history of blues, gospel, and soul music in a show that’s perfect for all ages.

Jake, Elwood, and The Band hit the right balance of humor, music, and mayhem performing with the passion and precision that is the trademark of the original Blues Brothers Band.
