Helen M. Young age 88 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Tuesday April 3, 2012 at Heartland of Marion.
She was born May 7, 1923 in Marion to the late Virgil and Frances (McGuire) Altenberger.
Helen was married twice. First to Warren Wise who passed away in Marion in 1982, and then she married Ralph O. Young, Sr. on November 13, 1993 and he survives.
Helen was a retired cook with the Marion City Schools. She at one time also worked for Andy Arntz, was with Henney Cooper Drug Store, and worked at the Marion Depot during W.W.II.
To the family, Helen was a wonderful wife and mother and grandmother.
Besides her husband, she leaves behind a daughter and a son; Judy O'Hail of Mansfield, Ohio, and Daniel L. (Patricia) Wise of Marion, Ohio. Also, two grandchildren; Marsha (Bryan) Shoffner of Marion, and Brian (Jena) Williams of Mansfield, and seven great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Funeral services for Helen will be Friday April 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Nancy Goulet. Burial will follow in the Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on friday one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
