The Marion County Commissioners Tuesday approved bidding out the construction of a bridge replacement and advanced funds for a court program that will be paid back with grant funds.
The bridge replacement will be on Wyandot-Marion Road near the Crawford County line. Because of the location, Crawford County has agreed to pitch in $40,000. The project will also receive grant funding from the State of Ohio. The new bridge will be five feet wider and will be capable of holding all traffic loads.
Bids must be received by 9:15 am on July 8.
The Commissioners also approved the advance of $38,000 to the Marion County Courts for their re-entry program. The State awarded Marion County a grant, but it is for money that has been spent. The advanced funds equal two quarters of the grant and will be refunded by the State.
The money is used to pay for a part-time coordinator and a part-time administrator and helps those convicted of crimes re-enter public life.
