Mary L. Rhodes age 82 of Marion, Ohio, and formerly of Prospect, Ohio, passed away Saturday June 16, 2012 at the Marion Manor Nursing Home.
She was born November 6, 1929 in Lima, Ohio to the late Cecil and Madaline (Kellogg) Glaze. On July 30, 1948 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, she married James A. Rhodes and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1997 in Marion, Ohio.
Mary was a homemaker and very much loved her family. She was a 1947 Graduate of Lima Shawnee High School. Mary also loved to paint, and loved gardening, especially growing flowers.
Mary is survived by a wonderful family; three sons; Jim D. (Sally) Rhodes of Marion, Ohio, John E. (Darla) Rhodes of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Brent A. Rhodes of Tampa, Fla., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, two sisters and a brother; Irena (Kenny) Siefker of Ottawa, Ohio, Imogene (Dave) Durham of Grafton, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two grandchildren, three sisters; Faith and Hope Glaze and Betty Miller, and two brothers; Paul and Jimmy Glaze.
Funeral Services for Mary will be Thursday June 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Dwight Hord. A Graveside Burial Service will take place following the funeral at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine, Ohio at 1:30 P.M.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Marion General Hospital Hospice, and especially, Rita Ustaszewski, and also the staff at the Marion Manor Nursing Home.
