Phillip R. Hoover, 71, of Marion

Phillip R. Hoover of 226 Hane Ave., Marion, died on June 30, 2012 after a
lengthy illness.  He was 71.

A longtime resident of Marion, he was born on November 9, 1940, in
Charleston WV, to Harry E. and Beulah M. (Freeman) Hoover, who precede
him in death.  For more than 25 years, Mr. Hoover was a heavy equipment
operator for Baldauf Construction Co.  He will be deeply missed by his
loving family and friends who shared his passions for history, fishing,
racing, and football.

Surviving Mr. Hoover are his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Edith E. (Huntsman)
Hoover, five children, Richard D. (Sue E.) Hoover of Mansfield, Deborah
K. (Laura L. Allen) Hoover of Silver Spring, MD, Bruce A. (Christina
M.) Hoover of Delaware, Phillip G. Hoover of Washington, DC, Larry E.
(Vicki S.) Hoover of Manchester, CT, and five grandchildren. Two
sisters survive, Carolyn S. (David) McPherson of Marion, and Doris A.
Tyra of Sharpsville, IN.  A brother, Kenneth W. Hoover, preceded him in
death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at
Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, 347 West Center Street, Marion, Ohio,
with subsequent graveside service at Grand Prairie Cemetery at Brush
Ridge, Morral. Family and friends can attend viewing services on
Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gunder/Hall & Folk.
