Steven H. Moore, 28, of Marion

Steven H. Moore, age 28, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 30, 2012, following injuries sustained in a motor cycle accident.

On November 29, 1983, Steven was born in Marion, the son of Marilyn Kay (French) Moore and the late Don D. Moore Sr.

Marrying the love of his life, Rebecca “Becky” Pheasant, on February 4, 2006, Steven cherished their thirteen years together and their beloved daughter, Emmy.  There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t let her know how much he cared for her, in his own special way.

For six years, Steven worked as a grain handler for the Peavey Company in Harpster.  Most recently, he had been working for J-Lenco Inc. in LaRue.

Being raised in a family of faith, Steven had attended the Lighthouse of Prayer in Marion.

Marrying into a family with circus talent, they taught Steven how to spin fire, which he quickly picked up and learned to love.  He especially enjoyed having fun and clowning around with his audience, which was most often his neighbors who loved watching he and Becky spin fire.
Having an adventurous spirit, Steven would try anything once, especially if you told him not to.  He also loved riding his motorcycle.

“A jokester”, Steven loved to tease and aggravate people in his own unique, and would do most anything to make you laugh.  He was a people person, who had never met a stranger.  Truly, he was a “character”, so “full of life”, who lived his life to the fullest.

Wanting to be the best man he could be for his wife, daughter, and family, Steven was actively involved in and committed to a 12 step program.  His proudest moment in life was the day he became a father.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Becky Moore; his daughter, Emily Elizabeth Kay Moore; his mother, Marilyn (Ray) Moore; his brother, Don (Shirley) Moore; five step brothers and sisters: May Moore, Raymond Moore, all of Marion, Mary (Tom) Mullins of Tennessee, Angela (Wayne) Haines, and David (Sharon) Moore; his mother-in-law, Mary Pheasant; his father-in-law, George (Connie) Pheasant; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Ashlee Davis, Roxanne Pheasant, Matt (Amy) Combs, Molly Pheasant and Monica Pheasant; two close nieces: Kaylee and Maranda Moore, all of Marion; and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and special friends.

Including his father, Steven was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Howard and Katie French; paternal grandparents: Eligie and Essie Moore; his step brother, Billy Ray Moore; and his cousin, Matthew H. Moore.

The Moore family will greet friends from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion.  Services celebrating his life will also be held there on Friday at 11:00 a.m., with Pastors Owen Lindsey and Clifford Hall officiating.  Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home to assist with his cousin, Matthew “Chu” Moore’s outstanding funeral expenses.
