James F. Sisson, age 78, of Marion, died Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Marion General Hospital. James was born November 22, 1933 to the late Virgil H. and Edith P. (Evans) Sisson in Marion. “To know him, was to love him,” James enjoyed fishing, cooking, hunting, and above all else helping others. He married Rose M. Burgle on November 10, 1951; she preceded him in death on April 16, 1999.
James leaves behind two daughters, Rosemary (Roger) Rose and Elizabeth (Woody) Wade of Marion; one son-in-law Ron Miller, eight grandchildren, Robin R. Patubo, Roxanne Martin, Gary Waugh, Angie Bryant, Billy Joe Brewer, James E. Friley, Tracy A. Pennington and Joey A. Friley; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Forest of Marion, four brothers, Carl (Barb) Sisson, Paul Sisson, David (Linda) Sisson all of Marion and Ronald (Vicki) Sisson of Corning, OH, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one daughter Melody Miller; brothers, John, Robert, and Wayne Sisson; and sister Garnetta Wilson.
Family will receive visitors Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, 347 W. Center St., from 4PM until 8 PM. A funeral service will be held 10:30AM, Thursday, July 12, 2012 with Rev. Joe Lemasters officiating at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in The Marion Cemetery.
