Richard Dale Jordan, age 91, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Wednesday June 23, 2010 at The Partners of Marion.
He was born December 3, 1918 in Prospect, Ohio to the late Grover and Marguirite (Temple) Jordan.
Richard lived with and was raised by his grandparents, Joe and Clydie Temple for 18 years.
On June 12, 1949 he married Mary Jeannette Rider and she survives.
Richard was the oldest of five brothers and sisters who are all deceased; Howard and Donald Jordan, Hylon Hartzler and Eva Pickeral.
He was a graduate of Prospect High School and was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. He was also a W.W.ll Veteran of the U.S. Army and spent four years serving in The European Theatre. Richard retired in 1976 after 31 years of working for The Civil Service.
Besides his wife, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews, a very special niece and special friends, Norm and Barb Young.
Funeral Services will be Monday June 28, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at The Emanuel Lutheran Church. Officiating the service will be The Assistant To The Pastor, Kevin Kehn. Burial will follow in The Marion Cemetery where there will be military rites by The Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call Sunday June 27, 2010 at The Boyd-Born Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made by the dornor's choice to any fund at the church.
