Jacob E. “Jake” Pfeiffer, age 19, of Marion

“His ear to ear smile, would always light up the room.”  Jake Pfeiffer was a “great kid” who loved his family and friends dearly and often had them rolling with laughter.

Jacob E. "Jake" Pfeiffer, left this world much too early as he died unexpectedly on Saturday evening, June 26, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  He was 19 years young.

On November 14, 1990, Jake was born in Marion General Hospital, the son of Dawn (Mayes) Pfeiffer of Marion and Bear Pfeiffer of Richwood.

An excellent student, Jake graduated from Pleasant High School in the class of 2009, where he participated with the chess club.  Recently, he finished his first year at Marion Technical College, where he was studying to be a medical laboratory technician.  He was looking forward to working at Silver Line Windows and Doors for the summer.

Always making everyone laugh, Jake’s family often told him they thought “he should be a comedian.”  The skits he would do for his family and friends were especially hilarious, such as his “Mom at Wal-Mart” skit.

With a love for music, Jake made sure you knew he was coming.  He played his music so loud you could hear him, long before he pulled into the driveway.

A “video game fanatic”, Jake loved playing his Xbox 360 and gaming online.  He was often known to play all day long.  He also had a fascination with watching Japanese cartoons.

Known for his “wild” collections, Jake enjoyed looking for weapons from the renaissance era, such as primitive knives, swords, and axes.

Having a huge heart, Jake cared deeply for his friends and family, as they were the most important things in his life.  He also loved animals, especially his beloved dogs, “Jetta” and “Homer”.

Jake will be dearly missed his mother, Dawn (Ken Gray) Pfeiffer of Marion; father, Bear (Tammy Magoto) Pfeiffer of Richwood; a sister, Christina (David) Balliett of Galion; maternal grandmother, Barbara Wolfe of Delaware; paternal grandmother, Nettie Pfeiffer of Morral; maternal grandmother, Shirley Mayes; great-grandmother, Sally Smith, both of Proctorville; nieces and nephews: Brittany and Kristin Keener, Jessica and Austin Balliett, and Cheyenne and Shylee Broderick; a brother, Tyler Snyder of Findlay; a sister, Annette Christine Pfeiffer of Conrow, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin West; maternal grandfather, Lowell Mayes; and paternal grandfather, Michael Pfeiffer.

His family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion, where services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
