Robert E. “Bob” Fissell, a.k.a. “Trapper”, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, doing what he loved to do, checking his beaver traps at the former Boy Scout Camp in Mount Gilead. He was 65 years young.

On October 28, 1946, Bob was born in Marion General Hospital, the eldest of three boys of the late Grover and Iola (Heth) Fissell.  He graduated from Mount Gilead High School in the Class of 1964.

Evelyn R. Robinson, age 83, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, January 24, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, at her son's residence.

Evelyn was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on September 10, 1928, one of five children of the late George and Helen (Knorr) Rittler.

Ruth Hughes, age 87, formerly of Prospect and Marion, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster.

She was born January 12, 1925 to the late Orville and Hazel (Decker) Hull.

Albert “Red” R. Ferriman, age 88, of Marion, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Marion General Hospital.

Red was born in Marion, Ohio on August 31, 1923, the son of Arthur Raymond and Minnie (Truitt) Ferriman.

He was born and raised in Marion, OH, August 13, 1961 to Cecil E. and Edna M. (Blevins) Friley.

Violet L. Stafford, age 95 of Caledonia, passed away Saturday evening January 21st at home.

She was born May 1, 1916 in Marion County as the daughter of the late Charles G. and Minnie M. (Klingel) Kaelber.

David L. Seigfried, age 60 of Kiwanis Village in LaRue, died Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2012 at home.

He was born May 30, 1951 in Marion to the late John J. Sr. and Edna (Ferguson) Seigfried.

Jane C. Peppard, age 87, of Marion, died peacefully on Friday morning, January 20, 2012, at her residence. 

Jane was born June 17, 1924, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to the late Gilbert and Marie (Harrison) Collins.

Mary (VanHouten) Lutz, 73, of Marion passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Marion General Hospital.

Mary was born on December 28, 1938 to the late Harold and Etta Mae (Cook) VanHouten.

Ronald Allan Moore, age 62, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Morning View Pointe in Marion.

He was born January 30, 1949 in Marion, Ohio to Everett M. Moore and Maxine Miller (Lumpkins) Moore.
