State Average for Gas Prices Drops 8 Cents

Ohio gas prices are down 8 cents from last week and are a nickel cheaper than the national average.

The latest survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express shows the state's average price for regular-grade gasoline has fallen from $2.76 per gallon last Monday to the current $2.68. The national average for regular is now $2.73.

Miss and Ms. Marion Popcorn Competitions This Weekend

The 30th annual Miss Marion Popcorn Scholarship Program will be held on Saturday, August 7, at the Grant Middle School gymnasium.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 7:00 p.m.. Tickets are $10.00 each and available at the door.  This year’s theme for the festival and this event is “Peace, Love, and Popcorn”.

Several Marion City Council Committees will meet Monday to discuss various items including a liquor permit, transfers, grant funds, and other items.
