Physician Joins Marion General’s Medical Staff
Dr. Raymond J. Gardner, family practice, has joined the medical staff of Marion General Hospital and MIPA Primary Care.
Dr. Gardner received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Columbus, Ohio. He completed his internship and residency in family practice at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio.
Saturday in the Waldo Park Offers Free Activities
On Saturday, June 19, Peace Community United Church of Christ will hold "Saturday in the Waldo Park" from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Organizers say there will be summer fun for the entire family, including a carnival-like atmosphere with games for kids and adults. Free food including hot dogs, chips, cookies and lemonade will be available. Other prizes and freebies.
Free Outdoor Movie in Marion
Crosswood United Methodist Church is invited the community to watch a free family-rated outdoor movie from a major studio on a giant screen. The movie is Friday evening, June 25, at Crosswood Church, 1551 Richland Road in Marion.

Commissioners – New Bridge for Bid, Grant Funds Advanced
The Marion County Commissioners Tuesday approved bidding out the construction of a bridge replacement and advanced funds for a court program that will be paid back with grant funds.
Absences Require Additional Council Meetings
Marion City Council met in regular session Monday night, but vacations and a need to pass a grant proposal this week is requiring more meetings to be held.
Electronic Billboard Approved by Council Committee
The Finance Committee of Marion City Council approved plans for a new electronic billboard in downtown Marion. The measure still needs to be approved by the full Council, which could occur this week.
