Wayne K. Roszman, 84, of Marion

Wayne K. Roszman, age 84, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday morning, June 27, 2012 at the Marion Manor.

Wayne was born to Ralph H. and Odessa V. (Johnson) Roszman on February 4, 1928, in their home in Marion County. Wayne was educated in the Meeker schools and graduated in 1947. Two years later, Wayne married Wilma A. Sloat in Morral, at the United Methodist Church on March 20, 1949. Together they shared 63 years of marriage. Wayne was retired as a steel worker and a bus driver.

Robert “Bob” Wires, 75, of Marion

A memorial service for Robert "Bob" Wires, age 75, of Marion will be held at noon on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with Pastor Gary Brugger officiating.

Bob passed away on June 25, 2012, surrounded by his family.

George Lawrence Young, 90, of Marion

George Lawrence Young, age 90 of Marion, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Kingston Residence.

He was born September 13, 1921 in Marion to the late Merle W. and Della R. (Otto) Young.

Russell C. Lutz, 84, of Marion

Russell C. Lutz, age 84, of Marion, passed away suddenly at the Marion General Hospital on Monday evening, June 25, 2012.

Russell and his twin brother, Richard, were born in the family home in Crawford County on August 18, 1927 to Dale and Bertha (Clary) Lutz. Russell was educated at the Mt. Zion High School and graduated in 1945. After high school, Russell attended Tiffin University where he studied accounting and graduated in 1947 with an associate’s degree. On June 21, 1958, Russ was united in marriage to Lois G. Winfield at the Kirkpatrick Church of Christ; they just celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Martha V. McFarland, 95, of Marion

Martha V. McFarland, age 95, of Marion and formerly of Waldo, went to be with her Lord, husband and sons, on Monday afternoon, June 25, 2012, at the Primrose Retirement Community of Marion following an extended illness.

On December 19, 1916, Martha was the first born child of 10, of the late Lawrence E. and Vinnie (Miller) Reebel in Jackson County, West Virginia.  At an early age, her family moved to Marion for work, where she graduated from Marion Harding High School in the Class of 1936.

Alexis Jean “Lexi” Kearns, 21, of Marion

Alexis Jean "Lexi" Kearns age 21 of Marion, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born June 4, 1991 in Jacksonville, FL. Lexi attended Victory Center Church of God in Marion and for the past year she has been employed at Holiday Inn Express and Crosscreek Dental in housekeeping.

Ethel L. Carter, 100, of Marion

Ethel L. Carter, age 100, passed away at noon, Sunday, June  24, 2012, at DeWolfe House in Marion. She was born June 8, 1912 in Montgomery Township to the late Ira A. and Mertie L. (Moore) Carter.

Ethel was a lifelong resident of LaRue and was a member of the LaRue United Methodist Church for more than 60 years serving on various committees, as a trustee and church books auditor.

Glenn “Stumpy” Summers, 62, of Morral

Glenn "Stumpy" Summers age 62 of Morral, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 at his residence. Born in Ironton, Ohio October 23, 1949 to the late Charles "Tootie" and Mary (Chirchirillo) Summers.

Blanche R. Long, 99, Of Edison

Blanche R. Long, age 99, of Edison and formerly of Columbus, died on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Morrow County Hospital following an extended illness.

Blanche was born on May 21, 1913, the daughter of the late Jacob Loretta Bailey.  She was a graduate of the Columbus School Systems.

For over thirty five years, Blanche worked at the American Cattle Jersey Association in the office.  She also opened her own home hair salon to cut and style hair on the side.

Donald H. Redd, 82, of LaRue

Donald H. Redd, age 82, of LaRue, Ohio died Friday June 22, 2012 at 2:25 PM at Marion General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 22, 1929 in Prospect, Ohio to the late Harley A. and Mary Elizabeth (Darling) Redd. On January 22, 1949 he married Norma J. Luke and she died April 11, 2011.
