Opal “Marie” Meadows, age 76, of Marion passed away Thursday evening at Marion General Hospital.

Born in Putman County, West Virginia on November 19, 1934 to Harley “Basil” Grady and Vergie F. (Snyder) Grady, she first married Jessie Kensler who survives in Marion. She later married Brady “Pete” Meadows who preceded her in death as did a step-daughter; Mona Reifsnyder.

Fred W. Preston, age 87, of Mount Gilead, passed away early Thursday morning, February 17, 2011, at Marion General Hospital following a brief illness.

On February 23, 1923, Fred was born in Johnson County, Kentucky, the son of the late John and Lilly Mae (Childers) Preston.

John Charles Kittinger, Sr. , age 76 of Marion passed away on Thursday at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.

John was born December 3rd, 1936 in Akron the son of the late James Todd, Sr. & Berneda (Sullivan) Kittinger.

Francis M. Walker, age 93, of Marion died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Partners of Marion. He was born on May 29, 1917 in Marion the son of the late Clarence and Myrna (Myers) Walker.

Francis was a graduate of Harding High School in the class of 1935 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during World War II.

Linda Mae Huggins age 45 of Marion, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at marion general Hospital.

She was born May 27, 1965 in Greenup, KY. to Melvin Thomas and Louise (Akers) Blevins.

George A. Chance age 85 of Marion, Ohio passed away at his residence Wednesday, February 16, 2011.

Born in Connersville, Indiana March 17, 1925 to the late Ray and Cecelia (Wagner) Chance.

George retired as a meat inspector for the USDA.

David L. Sparling age 60 of Marion, Ohio formerly of Medford, Oregon passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Marion General Hospital.

He was born December 15, 1950 in Medford, Oregon to Jack G. and Kathleen (Welch) Sparling.

Alysha Kay Russell, 36, of Marion, beloved daughter, mother, sister, went to join her grandparents and father in the loving arms of our Lord on Monday, February 14, 2011.

She was born on December 11, 1974 to Jerry (Linda Cudd) Russell.

Rev. George R. Sprague, age 81, of Marion went to be with the Lord Tues., Feb. 15.

He was born June 23, 1929, in New York City and grew up in Vineland, N. J.

He graduated with a business degree from Juniata College in Pennsylvania and obtained his Master’s Degree in gerontology from Goddard College in Vermont.

Donald C. Schwaderer age 93 of Marysville, Ohio and formerly of Marion, Ohio, passed away Tuesday February 15, 2011 at the Memorial Hospital of Union County Marysville, Ohio.

He was born February 26, 1917 in Green Camp, Ohio to the late David T. and Florence I. (Temple) Schwaderer.
