Mildred L. Sankey, age 88, of Marion passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Marion Manor Nursing Home.

She was born August 14, 1922 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Rade and Sophia (Grubich) Popovich.

She married Edwin W. Sankey on February 16, 1952 who died September 30, 2010.

Ronald N. Piatt, 70, of Lady Lake, Florida passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at The Villages Regional Hospital.

Ron was born June 11, 1940 in Marion to the late Frank and Hazel (Hutchinson) Piatt.

He married Gloria Jean Henry August 19th, 1960 in Kirkpatrick Ohio.

Frederick H. “Gunny” Weiss, age 77 of Marengo passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at MedCentral in Mansfield following a two week illness.

He was born on January 24, 1933 in Coudersport, PA to the late Herman and Grace (Denson) Weiss.

Nina J. Overturf, age 81 formerly of Centerburg passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Bashford Health Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was born on October 2, 1929 in Frankfort, Ohio to the late Earl and Mary Vincent.

Barbara L. “Barb” Roberts, age 71, of Marion, died Tuesday morning, December 28, 2010, at her residence surrounded by her loving family following a thirteen year illness.

On February 9, 1939, Barb was born on Greenwood Street in Marion, Ohio, one of seven children of the late William “Bill” and Pauline (Newell) Harris Johnson.

To put it simply, Jenny Grounds, “was a dandy.”  She was a wonderful and “high-flying” lady, who lived life to the fullest.

Genevieve M. “Jenny” Grounds, of Marion, died early Monday morning, December 27, 2010, at the Marion General Hospital with her loving husband and co-pilot by her side every possible moment.  She was 85 years old.

Rosemary Burkhardt age 93 of Marion, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Community Healthcare Center.

Born in Marion July 21, 1917 to the late Nunzio and Eugenia (Puletti) Uliano.

On August 16, 1941 Rosemary married Orvel R. Burkhardt, he passed away October 17, 1997.

Richard “Doc” Eugene Creager, 76, of Marion passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at The Ohio State University Medical Center.

Richard was born August 20, 1934 in Marion to the late James Murrey and Pauline (Conkle) Creager.

He married Janet Hess on August 27, 1987 in Marion.

Hester L. Ewers was very proud of her upbringing as a coal miner’s daughter and lived a life of faith.  “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24.

She died unexpectedly Sunday night, December 26, 2010 at her home.

Genevieve M. "Genny" Grounds, age 85, of Marion, died early Monday morning, December 27, 2010, at the Marion General Hospital. Arrangements are pending and will be announced by the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home.
