John W. Burris Jr., age 29, passed away early Friday morning at Grant Medical Center surrounded by the many people in his family who loved him dearly.

He was born November 8, 1981 in Marion to John Burris Sr. and Jane (Crockett) Burris who survive along with his younger brother; Izaak Burris and his two year old son; Kayden.

Lula “Granny” Hess, age 89 of Centerburg went home to be with her Lord Friday, December 17, 2010 at St. Ann’s Hospital.

She was born in Perry County, Kentucky on August 20, 1921 to the late  Jasper and Armilda (Branson) Young.

Milton R. Fox age 89 was born August 20, 1921 in his rural Prospect home to the late John Harvey Fox and Ida E. (Schuster) Fox. He passed away early December 16, 2010 with his family by his side to his heavenly home.

Steven W. Pickett, age 38, of Fredericktown, Ohio, and formerly of Linton, Indiana, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday evening, December 13, 2010, at his residence.

On March 1, 1972, Steve was born in Linton, Indiana, the son of the late Wilson and Carolyn Mae (Marshall) Pickett.

Lewis S. Young Sr., 66, of New Port Richey, FL., and formerly of Marion, died December 5. He is survived by: sons Russell, Lewis Jr., Ty; daughters Stephanie, Kimberly, many loving grandchildren, stepdaughter Tanya, & loving family; stepson Nelson & loving family. Arrangements: Michels and Lundquist Funeral Home, New Port Richey, Fl.

Donald Ray Greenwood died at his home on December 15, 2010 after a long illness.

He was born on May 13, 1917 to  the late Jessie H. and Nellie (Typsword) Greenwood. He was a life long resident of the LaRue area and was a 1936 graduate of LaRue High School.

Helen Lucille Pierce, 86, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Marion General Hospital.

Helen was born in Marion County August 15, 1924 and had been a lifetime resident of Marion. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Hazel (Shaw) Miley.

Garnet L. Fetter of Kingston Memory Care, formerly of Center Park Dr. in Marion, went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 14, 2010 at 7 AM.

Garnet was born on July 17, 1924 in Marion to the late Eugene C. and Lillian (Schlecht) Smith.

On January 12, 1947 she married Charles D. Fetter at Emanuel Lutheran Church by the late Rev. M.E. Hollenson.

Bobby L. Thacker age 77 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Sunday December 12, 2010 at Marion General Hospital.

He was born June 5, 1933 in Vinton, Co., Ohio to the late Jolly Mollihan and Viola Thacker. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, James Thacker.

Lawrence E. “Larry” Christian, age 77, of Marion, went to be with the Lord Friday evening, December 10, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his loving family following a seven-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

On January 22, 1933, Larry was born in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of the late Bernard Henry Christian Sr. and Mabel (Bowman) Christian.  He was raised in Topeka, Kansas, where he graduated from Topeka High School in the Class of 1951.
