Rebecca A Edler age 53 of Marion, Ohio Passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Triumph Hospital of Mansfield.

She was born August 19, 1957 to John and Patricia (Strause) Coons.

Robert J. Smith, age 74, of Mt. Gilead, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 3, 2010, at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He graduated from the Mansfield Senior High School, class of 1955, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was retired from The Ohio Brass, Mansfield, after 35 years.

Dorothy M. Thacker age 86 of Marion, Ohio formerly of Kenton, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Community Healthcare Center in Marion.

She was born September 10, 1924 in Athens, Ohio to the late Bill and Grace (Birchfield) Morrison.

Edwin W. Sankey, 89, Marion, died on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Heartland of Marion.

He was born on June 16, 1921 to the late Edwin and Margaret (Kaufmann) Sankey in Cleveland, Ohio.

Paul M. Brown, 75, of Marion, died on Thursday, September 30, 2010.  He was born on June 10, 1935 to the late William and Opal (Cummins) Brown in Marion.

Paul was a member of St. Mary Church and worked at Marion Power Shovel until 1984.  He served as president of the union local 1949.  On June 29, 1957, he married Mary L. (Dominy) Brown who survives.

Rev. William J. Wheeler Sr., age 66 of Marengo returned to his heavenly father on September 29, 2010 surrounded by his family.

He was born on February 20, 1944 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Lester and Ethel (Cantrell) Wheeler. A graduate of Magoffin County High School, he served in the US Navy.

Jean Viola Ballinger, age 84, of Seaton Sq., Marion, passed away in the Marion General Hospital on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 11:29 p.m.

She was born in Marion on December 5, 1925 to the late William and Evelyn (Fleming) Huntsman.

On Monday, September 27, 2010, at 2:30 pm, current Delaware resident and long-time Prospect resident Colleen Kirby departed this life and entered the presence of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.

She was born January 18, 1928 to the late Carl C. and Gladys Lenora (Bole) Rippey.

Ronald L. “Ron” Patten, age 71, of Marion, died Thursday afternoon, September 23, 2010, at the Partners of Marion Care and Rehabilitation Center.

On October 13, 1938, Ron was born in Marion, Ohio, one of three children of the late Wallace and Edna Grace (Lee) Patten.  He graduated from Morral High School in the Class of 1956.

Marie Bailey, 96, of Marion, Ohio died on September 27, 2010 in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio following a massive stroke.

Marie was born August 23, 1914 in Salyersville, Kentucky where she spent her childhood, married and started her family. In the early 1940’s, she moved to Marion with her husband and four children at the time. Her fifth and last child was born in Marion.
