“We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.” Romans 15: 1-2
Snob: noun \ˈsnäb\- One who seeks association with those regarded as social superiors; tends to rebuff, avoid or ignore those regard as social inferiors
Let’s be honest, no one likes being around a snob in action accept other snobs. The continuation of clicks, popularity games, and separation should be rooted out as children so we aren’t adult aged children. We should not be alienating others due to financial, educational, work position, physical appearance, shared interest, life goals, or feeling like you have succeeded in a tougher life than others.
Paul says the same is true in the spiritual. Don’t look down on others because they have failures due to being weaker in the faith then you. That’s step one. Then, don’t get hyped up on yourself because you are the bomb because you are not looking down on others (not to please yourself). Accept one another as we encourage and spur one another on. Do good for your neighbor and lift them up. “But who is my neighbor?” The person beside you that you are comfortable with as much as the person beside you that you don’t fell you naturally click with.
Don’t be a spiritual snob…..
“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15: 5-6
