Sheriff’s Office Upping Patrols For Prom Season

The Marion County Sheriff's Office will be participating in a countywide traffic detail targeting speed and alcohol related violations for the upcoming prom season.

Deputies will be conducting extra traffic enforcement and patrol starting this weekend and running through May 16.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has received a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the Governor's Highway Safety Office for overtime traffic enforcement. These monies enable officers to work extra overtime hours during various dates throughout the year to curb impaired driving, speed, and seatbelt violations.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office will be patrolling all local state routes, county and township roads, and village streets for these violations and will have a zero tolerance during prom season, and other high traffic holidays throughout the year.
