Commissioners Approve Several Agreements

The Marion County Commissioners approved several agreements during their meeting today (Tuesday, June 22) including with the Popcorn Festival, Family and Children First Council, and Job and Family Services.

The Commissioners once again approved the use of County property by the Popcorn Festival. The areas are the same as in previous years, including the Courthouse parking lot.

The Marion County Family and Children First Council received a $145,954 grant in fiscal year 2009, which is ending soon, and is eligible for another $74,483 during the upcoming fiscal year. An agreement approved by the Commissioners today will allow for the application of those funds. The grant is provided by the Ohio Department of Health’s Help Me Grow program.

The Commissioners also approved an agreement between Marion County Job and Family Services and the County Commissioners Association of Ohio Service Corporation. The agreement will allow for less expensive employment verification services. This will be the second year for this partnership.
