Marion City Council will start early on Monday, June 14, with a meeting of the Streets and Sewers Committee at 7:00 pm. The full Council will then meet at 7:30 pm.
During the committee meeting, members will discuss the building of a digital billboard at the East City Parking Lot A in downtown Marion.
The full City Council meeting has a long agenda, including:
- Final reading and approval of projects to be paid for with the Community Development Block Grant
- Discussion regarding changes to several job descriptions for the City of Marion
- Discussion of changes to how taxi cab and limousine licenses are applied for
- Discussion of an ordinance that would prohibit engine braking within the City of Marion
- Purchase of supplies for the Division of Water Pollution Control
- Discussion of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, including bidding for more home demolitions, the awarding of a contract, and moving some properties from the City’s control
- Awarding a contract for cleaning services at City Hall to Dave’s Carpet Sales
- Discussion of various appropriations and transfers
City Council meets on the second floor of City Hall in downtown Marion. The meetings are open to the public.
