The annual Bike Nite on Thursday evenings at the Marion Popcorn Festival has become a “must” event for many motorcycle enthusiasts according to Rex Coldwell, Festival president.
“The bikers all meet at 6 p.m. and head downtown through the parade route," explained Coldwell. "We a have special parking area for the motorcycles and gear our Thursday entertainment towards something we feel they’d enjoy.”
The Kentucky Headhunters are 2010’s featured entertainment on Thursday.
Because of the success of that event, Festival officials will be sponsoring something new this year, a bike stop every Sunday afternoon at the Tin Duck from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Jody Haas, coordinator of “Poppin’ into the Tin Duck,” indicated that the event is set for every Sunday afternoon through Labor Day weekend and will feature something different each week, including motorcycle trick riders, corn toss, 50/50 raffles, and more.
Also available throughout the summer will be the Festival’s raffle tickets featuring the winner’s choice of a new Harley-Davidson XL883 Sportster or Honda TRX420 Sport Utility ATV. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20.
The Tin Duck is located on McMahon Blvd just west of the Route 23 and Route 95 intersection. Those wishing more information may contact Haas at 740.341.4769.
