Bucyrus Man Killed in Marion County Crash

Troopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Monday at 5:46 p.m. The crash, on State Route 98 south of Patten Pike, in Marion County, killed a Bucyrus man.

Scott A. Dauchenbaugh, age 30, of Bucyrus, Ohio was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse northbound on State Route 98. Timothy A. Grant, age 36, of Republic, Ohio was driving a 2006 International Truck southbound on State Route 98. The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle driven by Dauchenbaugh drove left of center striking the Grant vehicle.

Scott A. Dauchenbaugh was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Coroner Marc Comianos. Timothy Grant was transported by squad to Marion General Hospital for treatment.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, First Consolidated Fire Department, Marion County EMA and Stofcheck EMS. 

The crash remains under investigation.
