The Marion County Commissioners Tuesday approved the appointment of former Marion County Sheriff John Butterworth to the Marion County Children Services Board. Butterworth is replacing Russ Rigney, who resigned because of work commitments.
The Children Services Board says Butterworth had expressed an interest and willingness to serve on the board. Officials say the board will benefit from Butterworth’s law enforcement experience as they did with Rigney.
Butterworth’s term will run through December 31, 2013.
