FranNet is facilitating a free franchise expo April 19 at Columbus State Community College in Delaware with close to a dozen franchises looking to expand in Central Ohio. “Meet the Franchisors of Central Ohio” is open to the general public and an opportunity for those interested in owning a franchise to learn more about the industry and hear from current franchise owners and experts.
With this event, FranNet hopes to educate Central Ohioans on the benefits of owning a franchise and dispel any misconceptions.
“Franchising has evolved over the years,” says Barney Greenbaum, Central Ohio FranNet business consultant. “People usually associate franchises with fast food but the reality is the franchise industry today extends well beyond that and into the growing fields of healthcare, technology, human resources and marketing,” says Greenbaum. “It can be one of the best and safest ways for individuals to become their own boss and control their future.”
There are more than 3,000 franchise opportunities in more than 90 different categories, and it is estimated that franchise businesses make up 15.3 percent of all U.S. private-sector jobs. For the hopeful entrepreneurs of Central Ohio, the U.S. Small Business Administration estimates that there is a significantly lower failure rate for franchised businesses compared to other start-ups.
The event on Thursday, April 19, 2012 runs from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Columbus State Community College’s Delaware branch, 5100 Cornerstone Drive, Delaware.
