Get an Up Close Look at Birds of Prey in Marion

The Marion County Park District is hosting a Birds of Prey program on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Organizers say it will be a great opportunity to learn about several birds of prey species native to Ohio.

The free program begins at 2:00pm at the Marion Tallgrass Trail, on Holland Road, at the shelter.

Aimee Pico, of Jones, Michigan, and Kay Oster, of Marion, will present an hour long program along with several live birds of prey. You are invited to see the birds up close, learn about their habitat, their characteristics, and how they survive.

Aimee has a bachelor’s degree in zoology and has been working with birds of prey for over 20 years. She is also a master falconer. Kay has worked with Aimee as a volunteer for a number of years and is a falconer as well.
