Marion City Council will hold five committee meetings on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Topics to be discussed include the proposed re-instatement of two police officers, a proposal to recombine the Safety and Service Director positions, a cleaning contract, grant project proposals, and updates on the aquatic center, Downtown Marion, and Marion CANDO.
Finance Committee will meet at 6:30pm to discuss:
- A one year agreement, with an option year, with Dave’s Carpet Sales for janitorial services at City Hall.
- Three appropriations for the police and probation departments.
- Continued discussion on a proposal by Councilman Josh Daniels to re-instate two police officers.
Jobs and Economic Development Committee will meet at 6:45pm to discuss:
- Downtown Marion Quarterly Review
- Marion CANDO Quarterly Review
- Presentation of projects for the Formula Grant
Municipal Services, Parks and Recreation Committee will meet at 7:00pm to discuss:
- Aquatic Center Update
- A proposal by Councilman Ayers Ratliff to re-combine the Safety and Service Director positions.
Legislation, Codes and Regulations Committee will meet at 7:15pm to discuss an ordinance regarding GIS mapping.
Streets and Sewers Committee was a late addition to the schedule and an agenda for their meeting was not available. They will meet following the Legislation, Codes, and Regulations Committee.
All Marion City Council Committees meet on the second floor of City Hall and all meetings are open to the public.
