The Marion Police Department says they arrested a 20-year-old man this week following a lengthy investigation of a home invasion that occurred on April 30, 2012 which resulted in the stabbing of an elderly man.
Investigators say at just before 2:00am on April 30, four suspects entered a home on Monroe Street and demanded money and narcotics from the homeowner. The suspects fled the home after taking some items.
The 71-year-old male homeowner attempted to defend himself and was stabbed in the arm by one of the suspects, according to police. The victim was treated and released at Marion General Hospital.
Police say they arrested Joseph Stacy, 20, of Marion, saying he was one of the four suspects. Stacy was initially charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and felonious assault. He was taken to the Multi-County Jail to await formal charges from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
