River Valley FFA Members Earn State Level Awards

18 members of the River Valley FFA Chapter attended the 84th Ohio State FFA Convention at the beginning of May. Several of the members were recognized with various awards for their work, including six members who earned their State FFA Degree.

Casey Swonger placed first in the Poultry Proficiency area. His SAE project consists of raising and selling countless chickens. Casey is currently a freshman at Bowling Green State University majoring in finance.

This year, six members received their State FFA Degree. This means that they have earned and productively invested at least $3,000 or worked more than 1,000 hours in job placement. These members are Katie Bayles, Zach Isler, Taylor Seckel, Clay Rollison, Megan Weir and Paxton Wenger.

Logen Willey represented the chapter and accepted an award for donating to Children’s Hospital.

Also, Katie Poorman, the chapter secretary, was recognized for her gold rated secretary book as well as Mitchell Swonger and Zach Isler for their gold rated treasurer record book.
