State Patrol Investigating Four-Vehicle Crash on US 23

The Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a four-vehicle injury crash. The crash occurred in Marion Count on US 23 near the Delaware County line at approximately 3:31pm on Sunday, June 3.

The Patrol says Charles G. Mitchell, 20, of Pittsburgh, PA, was southbound on US 23 in a 2006 Mercury Mariner. Mitchell failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead and struck the rear of a 1992 Chevrolet can driven by Lydia Rozelle, 27, of Columbus. Investigators say Rozelle’s vehicle then struck the rear of a 2008 Saturn Outlook driven by Robert Cosby, 38, of Gahanna, OH.

All occupants of the Chevy van were transported to Grady Hospital in Delaware by Battle Run and Delaware County Fire Departments. One occupant in the Saturn claimed a neck injury, but declined treatment on scene. The Patrol says all occupants in the Chevy sustained non-life threatening injuries.

All of the vehicles, except for the Mercury, were stationary in traffic at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
