Troopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 7:37pm. The crash, which occurred on State Route 95 at the intersection of State Route 203, resulted in one driver being flown by helicopter to a Columbus hospital.
Michael Tennar, 65, of New Bloomington, was driving a 1988 Buick LeSabre eastbound on State Route 95 approaching the intersection of State Route 203. Jacob Burns, 18, of Marion, was traveling northbound on State Route 203 approaching the intersection of State Route 95 in a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder.
The Patrol says Burns failed to yield from a stop sign, and was struck by Tennar. Both vehicles continued off the roadway and came to rest in a field.
Tennar was entrapped in the vehicle and was extricated by New Vision Fire and EMS personnel. Tennar was transported to Grant Medical Center by MedFlight. His condition was unknown as of late Tuesday evening.
Burns was transported to Marion General Hospital by Stofcheck Ambulance Service. Burns’ condition is listed as stable.
Troopers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were assisted on scene by personnel from the New Vision Fire Department, Stofcheck Ambulance Service, and MedFlight. The crash remains under investigation.
