Goodwill to Feature Local Success Story at Annual Meeting

CaitlinMarion Goodwill says that when you shop and donate at their stores, you help people find jobs in your community. One example of those helped is Caitlin. He has cerebral palsy, is living independently, earning wages, and achieving her dream thanks to her job as a Goodwill cashier. Caitlin will share her story at Marion Goodwill’s annual meeting on September 27.

Caitlin is 24 years of age and has worked at the Marion Goodwill’s Sunbury location since 2009. She uses her power wheelchair to help her reach the cash register and do other things around the store. Caitlin is finishing up her last two classes at the Ohio State University Marion campus in order to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Childhood Education. After a credit transfer, she will graduate from Wright State University next May.

Goodwill’s Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet is an opportunity for Goodwill to reflect on the successes of the past year and to honor program recipients, volunteers, and community partners for their commitment to Goodwill’s mission.  The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Giauque Auditorium at Tri-Rivers Career Center, 2222 Marion Mt.-Gilead Road on Thursday, September 27.

A complimentary dinner will be served; this meeting is free and open to the public.

Reservations are required; please RSVP to Goodwill at (740) 387-7023 or [email protected].
