Aqua Ohio, Inc. (Aqua) has announced a major water line replacement project in Marion County’s Grandview Subdivision with a project cost of nearly $310,000. The project the installation of 3,900 linear feet of 8-inch water line. It will also extend access to centralized water service to several homes in the area. This project will move service lines for customers being served by lines crossing other, private properties to the right of way in front of the customer’s home.
“Aqua is continuing to enhance the Marion system,” said Aqua Area Manager, Scott Ballenger. “This project will eliminate several dead-end service mains to improve flow and will also extend access to our service. The expansion will allow area residents that have been burdened with private well maintenance, reliability issues and a lack of fire hydrants in the area to connect to our system.”
Key details related to this project include:
- Construction scheduled to begin September 17 with new connections complete by Mid-November,
- Installation of six new fire hydrants and 3,900 linear feet of 8-inch water line to improve water pressure, flow rates and fire protection, along Harris Drive, North Avenue, Grandview Drive, Schell Drive, Craven Drive and Curren Drive,
- New service connections and meters for current customers along the construction route,
- Directional and free-bore drilling to avoid cutting through area roadways and driveways whenever possible.
