Buckeye Basketball Legend to Speak at Local Church

The Green Camp Baptist Church will welcome basketball legend Jerry Lucas on October 7 and 8, 2012. He will speak at the Sunday morning service at 10:45 am, Sunday evening at 7:00 pm, and Monday evening at 7:00 pm. Jerry is an Ohio basketball legend winning the high school state championship for Middletown, Ohio, a Big 10 championship for Ohio State, an Olympic Gold medal in Basketball, and an NBA Championship with the New York Knicks.

At the Sunday morning services Jerry Lucas will deliver a message entitled “Improving Family Relationships.” The message gives family members a road map to successful relationships. It is an inspiring, interesting and Biblical message about the family. He teaches how to remember all of the points of the message as it is delivered.

On Sunday evening Jerry will speak on “Learning Made Fun and Easy.” During this message Jerry teaches a God-given gift of learning he calls Automatic Learning. This learning gift enables all in attendance to remember everything he teaches during the hour-long presentation without the necessity of taking notes. He teaches how to learn lists, all kinds of educational applications and the Word of God automatically.

On Monday evening his message will be Names and Faces Made Easy. Organizers say this message is billed as a seminar and not a church service, so the members of the church can invite non-churched co-workers and friends to the seminar without them being threatened by a church service. It has been a great outreach into hundreds of communities over the last twenty-five years. Jerry gives his testimony at the end of the teaching session, so those in attendance can hear what the saving grace of Christ can do in a person’s life.

There is no charge to attend but a free will offering will be taken at each service. Organizers say everyone is invited to attend each service, but people should come early for great seating. They say they are doing this as an outreach to our community and those who are experiencing memory issues or are caregivers to those who do.
