League of Women Voters (LWV) of Marion will hold a Candidates’ Night (CN) Debate Tuesday, October 23, 7:30 p.m. at River Valley High School Auditorium. This year’s 22 participants include the contested local candidates and state representatives running for office. Due to the large amount of candidates, the evening has been extended by a half hour.
Community residents are strongly encouraged to attend and should arrive for seating between 7:00 and 7:20 p.m. at RVHS, 4280 Marion Mt. Gilead Rd (Route 95 east of Marion). WMRN’s Scott Shawver will serve as moderator for the debate-style forum. Candidates will answer questions submitted by attendees. League members will furnish index cards onto which the questions, one per card, may be written. League members will collect and sort the questions and submit as many of them to the moderator as is possible for the time allowed. WMRN radio listeners may also submit call-in questions. League timers will monitor the timed responses and rebuttals.
