T.J. Maxx Store Set to Open in Marion, Donate to Turning Point

A new T.J. Maxx location will open in Marion on Sunday, October 28, 2012. The store, located on Marion-Mt. Gilead Road in the same building as Office Depot and Gordon Foods, will be open Sunday from 8:00am to 8:00pm and the first 1,000 shoppers will receive free, reusable bags.

In celebration of its new Marion location, T.J.Maxx will contribute to the surrounding community by presenting a $5,000 donation to Turning Point at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 28th, at 7:30am. The new store will also join all other stores nationwide in sponsoring a child who participates in Save The Children’s U.S. Programs.  T.J.Maxx also supports Autism Speaks and Joslin Diabetes Center with annual in-store fundraising campaigns.

T.J. Maxx is one of the nation’s largest off-price retailers with more than 1,000 stores currently operating in 49 states and Puerto Rico. T.J. Maxx expects to add approximately 50-plus stores in 2012.

“We are pleased to expand our store base to Marion, delivering value and an exciting selection of fashion to serve the needs of customers,” said Richard Sherr, President of T.J.Maxx. “With thousands of new items from top designers and brands arriving in each store every week from around the world, shoppers will discover a completely new store full of amazing values every time they visit.”

The store’s regular hours will be 9:30am to 9:30pm Monday-Saturday and 11:00am to 8:00pm on Sundays.

In addition to providing a new shopping option for local residents, the company says the new store will add approximately 60 full and part-time jobs to the area.
