With the Christmas holiday disrupting their regular schedule, Marion City Council will hold their next meeting on Thursday, December 27, 2012. The meeting begins at 7:30pm.
The agenda includes:
- an ordinance to freeze wages and stop sick leave sell back for those City employees not covered by bargaining agreements. This would be the fifth year in a row with these restrictions;
- de-appropriations for the 2012 fiscal year in order to re-set for the 2013 budget;
- approval of the 2013 budget. The new budget calls for a single lay off, but the end of concessions for police and fire department personnel;
- approve previously agreed to changes to the pension pick-up plans for fire department and dispatcher employees, and;
- approving the pass-through transfer of the former Oak Street Elementary building from the Marion City Schools to the Boys & Girls Club of Marion County.
City Council meets on the second floor of City Hall and all meetings are open to the public.
