Marion Elections Board Seeking New Director

The Marion County Board of Elections is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director. Sophie Rogers, the current director, is set to retire this month leaving the opening for a registered Republican.

The Director, in cooperation with the Deputy Director, is responsible for overseeing, directing, and managing the Board of Elections office; developing, recommending, and adhering to an annual budget; and conducting fair and impartial elections. Qualified candidates must be registered Republican and reside within Marion County, Ohio or be able to relocate there within thirty (30) days of accepting the position. Applicants must agree to a criminal background check.

Candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or its equivalency and must have a baseline understanding of the rules, processes, procedures, and equipment used in local election administration, as well as experience and capability to manage the day-to-day operations of the Board of Elections. College education is desired.
