Marion Public Health Offices Closing for Move into New Home

Marion Public HealthMarion Public Health has announced that all divisions are preparing to relocate to their new home, which will consolidate all local public health services in one, central location. All divisions will be closed from Wednesday, December 12, 2012 through Tuesday, December 18 to provide the time needed to move from the current three locations.

The health department is relocating to 181 South Main Street, across the street from Trinity Baptist Church. This move will provide “one stop shopping” for all public health services including WIC, Nursing, Birth and Death Records, Environmental Health, Emergency Preparedness, and Administration.

It is expected that phone service will be interrupted during the move dates, but the main phone numbers will remain the same at (740) 387-6520 or (740) 387-3604 and for the WIC Division (740) 383-5533.

Normal operations are expected to resume at 8:00 am Wednesday, December 19.

Dr. Winegarner, Health Commissioner, added “We apologize for any inconvenience resulting from our move and thank you for your patience. We look forward to serving you at our new location.”

While Marion Public Health is closed, those born in Ohio in need of a birth certificate can obtain the birth certificate at any Ohio city or county health department. Those persons needing out of state birth certificates must call the appropriate State Registrar for instructions on obtaining the birth record.
