United Church Homes (UCH), a Marion-based nonprofit that provides senior living and health care services, has hired experienced senior living professional Charles Mooney as senior vice president and chief operating officer. UCH officials say the choice of Mooney reflects their commitment to advancing its strategic direction and services.
In this new role, Mooney will direct the health care and senior living community operations, focusing on building relationships with health care systems and managed care organizations, creating home health and community-based services, and helping to guide the strategic direction of the company.
Rev. Kenneth Daniel, United Church Homes president and CEO, said Mooney’s 25 years of broad-based experience in hospital administration and managed care, and his expertise as chief operating officer and chief administrative officer for Springpoint Senior Living, a leading nonprofit, multi-site sponsor of housing, health care and supportive services for older adults in New Jersey, made him the ideal candidate.
“Chuck was drawn to us, and we were drawn to him,” Daniel added.
Mooney agreed.
“The outstanding legacy of United Church Homes and its reputation for providing high-quality housing and health care services for seniors — especially serving the high-risk population — appealed to me,” he said. “I am very impressed with the organization and its strategic direction.”
United Church Homes has been “Celebrating the Spirit” of older adults for nearly a century. The nonprofit, faith-based senior living organization based in Marion, Ohio, serves more than 4,000 seniors in 67 communities located in more than a dozen states nationwide. United Church Homes is in covenant with the United Church of Christ and welcomes residents of all faiths.
