Marion County Auditor Joan Kasotis is going on the road throughout January to sell dog tags at locations around the area. 2013 dog tags must be purchased by January 31, 2013 to avoid fines. Every dog, 3 months or older, is required to be licensed.
Dog tags are $16 per tag and kennel tags are $80.
The calendar for the remote locations includes:
- January 7, Marion at the Public Library, 5-8pm
- January 8, LaRue at the Public Library, 2-6pm
- January 9, Morral at the Fire House, 2-6pm
- January 14, Green Camp at The Berwick, 5-8pm
- January 15, Caledonia at the Public Library, 2-6pm
- January 22, Prospect at the Public Library, 2-6pm
- January 24, New Bloomington at Town Hall, 2-6pm
- January 25, Waldo at the Animal Clinic, 2-4:30pm

In addition to the remote sales in January, you can purchase dog tags several other ways.
- Mail your payment along with your completed application and self addressed stamped envelope to Marion County Auditor, 222 West Center Street, Marion, OH 43302. Make checks payable to the Marion County Treasurer.
- Purchase online at www.doglicenses.us/OH/marion/. There is a surcharge associated with online $2.00 per dog and $.50 per order that is for a third party that handles the online sales. Credit cards accepted, but no debit cards. Online payments will only be accepted until February 1, 2013.
- Stop by the Marion County Auditor’s Office, 222 West Center Street, between 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Cash and checks are accepted.
- Stop by the Marion County Dog Warden’s Office, 2252 Richland Road, from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday-Friday. Cash and check only. You can call the Dog Warden’s Office at 740-386-6150.
Note: kennel tags are sold only at the Marion County Dog Warden’s Office.
