Gallimaufry of Music at the Palace May Pavilion

Marion Palace TheatreJohn Garnes, Jr. and Nathan Haubert present “gal•li•mau•fry: musical miscellany” at the Marion Palace Theatre May Pavilion in downtown Marion on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 8:00 pm.

As the title of their show suggests, Garnes and Haubert perform a gallimaufry of music–a mix of many genres that include but are not limited to country music, pop/rock and Broadway tunes.  Patrons will enjoy the smooth vocals by both men with Nathan on piano.  Audience members can expect to hear current songs by Garth Brooks, Tom Petty, Ben Folds, James Taylor, Rufus Wainwright and even Katy Perry as well as some favorite songs from Guys and Dolls, Big River, Singin’ Cowboy and more.

“John and I don’t pin ourselves into one genre.  Our show covers all the bases, but what I think sets us apart is our uncomplicated style” states Nathan Haubert.  “We are just two guys and a piano, entertaining friends in our living room.  We like to interact with the audience and bring them into our show.”

The duo first began performing together in 2009 after meeting on the set of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” at OSUM.  They quickly developed a friendship built around their passion for music and teamed up to perform at local events. Garnes and Haubert are no strangers to audiences in the area.  They have both appeared in several Palace musicals and stage plays, most recently in the 2012 production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
