April 1, 2013 is the deadline to file a Complaint Against the Valuation of Real Property. Anyone who feels their property is not at the proper value on the property record card may file a complaint on or before April 1.
Having an incorrect value can drastically affect the amount of property taxes you are assessed on an annual basis. It is the property owner’s responsibility to prove the Auditor’s value to be incorrect.
To file a complaint, you can pick up a form at the Marion County Auditor’s Office, 222 West Center Street, or on their website by clicking here.
