As the end of the school year draws near and their new K-12 school gets closer to being finished, the Elgin school district asks the public to join them in remembering their current buildings with walkthroughs and closing ceremonies. The walkthroughs start this Sunday at Elgin South and Elgin West.
Former students, staff, friends, and families are encouraged to attend and take a self-guided tour. Officials say this will also be a perfect opportunity to share stories and memories.
Elgin South Elementary
- Walkthrough open house on Sunday, March 17 from 2 p.m.–4 p.m.
- Closing Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 19 from 2 p.m.–4 p.m.
Elgin West Elementary
- Walkthrough open house on Sunday, March 17 from 4 p.m.–6 p.m.
- Closing Ceremony, in combination with LaRue Alumni, will be held on Saturday, June 1 at 3 p.m
Elgin Junior High School
- Walkthrough open house on Thursday, April 4 at 6 p.m.
- Closing Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 2 at 6 p.m.
