Police Arrest Two Alleged Drug Traffickers

MARMETThe METRICH / MARMET Drug Task Force says they arrested two individuals suspected of drug trafficking. Both arrests came on Thursday, March 14, 2013, but they were not related to each other.

The first took place in the 200 block of Olney Avenue when detectives arrested Michael Austin, 25, of Stockbridge, Georgia for trafficking in heroin. Police say they seized $659 in cash.

The second person arrested was Devonta Adams, 20, of Detroit, Michigan. This arrest took place in the 100 block of South State Street. Adams was initially charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs and police say they seized 50 pills of Vicodin.

Both suspects were taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center to await the filing of formal charges by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

“The METRICH / MARMET Drug Task Force is working hard to slow down the availability of the drug dealers to sell their poison in the Marion community,” stated Lt. Chris Adkins.
