Ravi Gurujal, MD, board certified interventional cardiologist, has joined OhioHealth Marion Area Physicians and the medical staff of Marion General Hospital.
Dr. Gurujal has extensive experience with the use of radial access for cardiac procedures. Radial access, using the radial artery near the wrist, provides greater patient comfort and quicker recovery. His practice includes all aspects of interventional cardiology, including general cardiovascular care and diagnostic heart catheterizations; coronary angioplasty and stents; peripheral vascular disease; transesophageal echocardiography, and acceptance of patients with existing cardiac problems.
Dr. Gurujal received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois. His internship and residency were completed at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Gurujal completed fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, and the University of Colorado Health Sciences, Denver, Colorado. He was an instructor in cardiology and a cardiology research fellow working on 3D, contrast, and strain rate echo at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Gurujal is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He sees patients in Marion and Upper Sandusky.
